The concept of navigating and managing your files in the Nokia version of Crystal is different to that of ER5 which used System to show files and folders. Now we have the File program, which is like Windows Explorer with folders listed on the left in one pane and files on the right in another pain. It can be used to open, delete, rename and eveything else you would expect of a file manager.

This is the view you are first presented with. You can see the files and folder in the left hand pane and files (where applicable) are listed in the right hand pane.

Folders are selected by highlighting them and then using the open command.

One of the interesting menu is this one showing that backup and restore have now been integrated into the operating system. The memort card in the Nokia 9120 is a MMC card, but could be any form or removable media.

All the commands including sort etc are apparent. You can also choose to show all files with default hiding system files.

You can also create new files from here as you could in ER5 'System'. The expected file menu commands are aslo present.

This may seem to be a big change from ER5 and it is, but this works better where there is no touchscreen. In addition I would not be surprised if alternative file managers appear. For example Navigator might be ported to Crystal to give a more ER5 'System' like feel.
