Bookmark: Face Player software means talking messages
There is an interesting article on 3g.co.uk, regarding software called Face Player which is designed to have messages spoken to you by a lip synced face. The software is operational on the 7650 and testing is already underway. That said who would want David Beckham reading their football results to them?

Comment: Whatever happened too shareware?
SwitchBlade is on a rant - this time it is about the decline of shareware and rise of low quality shareware and freeware. Remember the days of the Atari and Amiga? So does SwitchBlade and the comparison with today is not favourable.

Microsoft abandoning WindowsCE and Symbian in Peril?
There's an article on Linux Planet which considers the opinion that Microsoft has abandoned WindowsCE and is allying itself with Ericsson to produce broadband mobile software. Although Ericsson have said that this has nothing to do with WindowsCE, LinuxPlanet is hoping that this news, along with the news that Nokia intends to release a Palm based smartphone, puts Symbian in Peril - though it does depend on how you look at it.

MEN Behaving Badly
Pots and kettles mean nothing to the Microsoft fangirl site that took great joy in pointing out this article that tells of how Motorola, Ericsson and Nokia (MEN) are allegedly monopolising the Mobile Phone market and the standards therein - and there was me thinking that Microsoft wouldn't know what a monopoly if it hit them in the face - seems that when it's someone else who's having the profits, Microsoft's eyes are wonderfully healed.

The War is Not Over
An article on the Wireless News Factor makes for interesting reading, if a little depressing if you look at it the wrong way. Entitled Shutting Microsoft Out of the Wireless World, it looks at how attempts to block Microsoft's access to wireless markets are likely to fail.
