New: ContactSync means 9210 to Psion 5 sync
|
Symbian Dev Net have made avialable an example program that may prove very useful to some people. It allows a degree of syncronisation between a Psion 5mx and a Nokia 9210 (presumably it also supports other Psion ER5 machines). The program comes with source and is freeware. If you are interested in learning more about developing for the 9210 examples programs are a good place to start.

Coming Soon: ZenoMorph and RingMaster for the 7650
|
Zenobyte, the well known developers of RingMaster and PhoneMan for the EPOC platform have extended their reach ot the Nokia 7650 with the announcement of the port of RingMaster to the 7650 and a new program ZenoMorph. ZenoMorph is an easy to use photo-manipulation application for SymbianOS powered phones. The user takes a picture of a friend with their Nokia 7650 or other Imaging phone, and then alter the facial features by pulling, stretching, expanding, and shrinking parts of the face.

Under development are a series of pre-set morphs which can be applied to any face. The user can simply scroll through a series of possible morphs, and select the funniest one.

New for 7650: Handy Expense and Shopper

Epocware, one of the most sucessful EPOC developers (with programs from the the Psion 5 to the Nokia 9210 and 7650) have released two excellent programs for the 7650. Handy Shopper (for shopping lists) and Handy Expense (for keeping track of expenses while on the move) join Handy Safe (already announced) in Epocware portfolio - it is programs like these that will really enhance the usefullness of a phone like the 7650.

Updated: ZX9200 for the 92X0
|
WildPalm have updated ZX9200 to version 1.1. ZX9200 is a Sinclair Spectrum emulator for the 9200 Communicator series. New features include improved emulation speed, saving in .z80 format, pasue mode, and auto joystick detection. A few bugs have also been squished.
The additional GameBrowser add on enables over-the-air download of almost 6000 games from the built-in database. Users of the ZX9200 GameBrowser can upgrade to the latest ZX9200 and also benefit from compressed saved games.

New: AutoExec Editor for 92X0

Symbianware have released AutoExec Editor for the Nokia 92x) Communicator Series. Autoexec runs the programs of your choice automatically when the system boots. This can be potentially very useful if you find yourself running similar programs a lot of the time. For a relatievly simple function it does seem a shame its shareware, but it is very polished.

Soon: Lines from Avista for the 7650
|
"Lines" for Nokia 7650 is a full-featured implementation of a classic puzzle game for the new Nokia mobile phone. Besides three game-modes ("Lines", "Blocks", "Squares") game features include animation, sounds, skin support, game saving, three different high scores tables. Release version of the game will be available in English, Russian, Finnish and Hungarian.
"Lines" will be available for download as soon as Nokia 7650 will be released.

Rafe's back: explanation and more

Firstly I want to apologise to all the regular visitors to the site for the lack of updates recently. I've been taking my second year exams at university and although they did finish a week ago I have since been letting my hair down and generally having a good time. But now I can saftely say normal updates can resume.
But to guard against this (long times between updates) in the future I'm looking for volunteers - I want to move All About ER6 to a more community driven basis.
There will be more details of this shortly, but if your interested in helping please let me know by e-mail or by posting on the forums. If your interested in a specific area please let me know that too. As part of this the site is likely to change a bit; this will take a while so your patience will be appreciated.

New: 10 L3 Applications for the 92X0

As the first sign of proliferation of programs as a result of AppForge's availability for the 92X0 platform L3 have released 10 new programs. These run using the AppForge Mobile VB System (which enables programs for the 92X0 to be written in Microsoft's Visual Basic. The AppForge Booster is required to run these programs.

PsiNT update all their programs

PsiNT have been busy while this site has been silent. They have updated all of their programs, most of the updates seem minor, but the important ones follow. Extended Internet has been updated to version 1.05, and all of the localisations have had their system fonts updated.

New: Corisoft release X-Link

Corisft have released X-Link recently (just before my exams started). It seems like a very useful program, and if you are a user of SmallBase it is defintely worth a look. XLink is a Hierarchical Tree View in which users can organize important Datas. Even better news is a Freeware viewer (in alpha) for the PC. Details of the viewer can be found here.

SmartReminder by SmartAppz essentially increases the performance of the Nokia 9210(i) Communicator: SmartReminder uses music, speech or tones to draw your attention to received but not yet opened sms messages. The program is a joint collaboration between Symbianware and Mobile2Day.de.
Too bad! You have received an important sms message but have not heard the signal. Now the message is waiting in your inbox for you to be noticed.
Surely your business partner, your wife or your relatives will not be happy, if you open their message hours later. In the contrary! They will not understand, that the most powerful smartphone of the world your communicator is not equipped with an sms reminder function. And damn right they are!!!
Even though the Nokia 9210(i) shows incoming messages on the display and the monitor, it is not the perfect solution for any situation. Of course, you don�t want to check the display constantly to ensure that you have not missed an important message, you might be waiting for! And what do you do, if the communicator is placed in another room, a leather wallet or in your jacket? You see, there are many reasons to use the SmartReminder!
SmartReminder is highly customizable: The user may select the reminder tone, using any preferred *.rng- oder *.wav file. It is also possible to choose the frequency of the reminder tone, for example once a minute, once every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, once a day and so on.
