Syncronize your 9210 and Novel Groupwise with LinkWise 9210

Advansys have released LinkWise 9210. The software allows yout to syncronize your GroupWise calendar, contacts and email. Currently a 30 day trial can be downloaded or a single liscense can be purchsed for $138.50. Looks like it is aimed at the corporates (not surprising given what it is syncing with)!

From the Advansys website:
LinkWise 9210 - Novell GroupWise Edition lets you synchronize your Novell GroupWise calendar, email and address book information with the 9210's inbuilt applications, saving you hours of laborious manual meeting, to-do, call, email and contact re-entry and cross checking.

LinkWise 9210 makes your GroupWise data spring to life! For example, you can automatically dial a GroupWise contact from your communicator, simply by selecting the contact from the communicator address book. No need to look up a phone number in another address book and then manually entering the number to make a call. You can also schedule a meeting in the phone's calendar application while taking a call, and then have that meeting automatically entered into your GroupWise calendar the next time you perform a synchronization! The communicator applications are closely integrated with the more conventional voice features of the phone, bringing you the ultimate in functionality, portability and value for money.

How does LinkWise 9210 work?

Synchronizes key GroupWise information

LinkWise 9210 lets you keep your GroupWise information in sync with the applications on your communicator. You can perform full, two-way synchronization between:

9210 Appointments GroupWise Appointments
9210 Events GroupWise Notes
9210 Dated To-Do’s GroupWise Tasks
9210 Email GroupWise Email
9210 Contacts GroupWise Personal Address Book

Seamless integration with the PC Suite for Nokia 9210 Communicator
The PC Suite for Nokia 9210 Communicator, supplied with every 9210 Communicator, allows you to connect your personal computer to your communicator via a serial cable in order to easily backup your communicator and to perform synchronization. LinkWise 9210 seamlessly extends the functionality of the PC Suite to include Novell GroupWise synchronization. Once LinkWise 9210 is installed, GroupWise appears in the list of supported synchronizable PC applications.

GroupWise Place Field Support
As the Nokia 9210 appointment does not include an equivalent field to the GroupWise appointment's 'place' field, LinkWise 9210 automatically appends the GroupWise place field to the end of the 9210 appointment's subject, such as 'My meeting [Room 1]'. In this manner, you can also include 'place' text when entering new appointments on the Nokia 9210.

Intelligent attachment support
When performing an email synchronization between GroupWise and the communicator, LinkWise 9210 gives you the option to include email attachments, including up to two levels of embedded GroupWise messages!. You are also able to specify the maximum message size (including attachments) to be transferred to the communicator.

Memory saving 'Restricted Synchronization' features
LinkWise 9210 gives you the option to only synchronize a subset of the GroupWise address book fields with your communicator. This memory saving feature lets you reduce the amount of information transferred to your communicator during a synchronization.

Flexible Deletion Options
In order to conserve space on your communicator, LinkWise 9210 gives you the option to delete older calendar and email items from the communicator.

Email Synchronization
LinkWise 9210 allows you to synchronize email and phone messages between the 9210 Email application and your GroupWise email account on your PC. You can also write PCmails on your 9210 which will be sent from your GroupWise email account when you synchronize. You can also save space on your communicator by choosing to synchronize the standard 9210 email folders, or only the Inbox.

Supports GroupWise 6
LinkWise 9210 supports Novell's latest GroupWise version, 6.0 as well as 5.x.

Full Feedback
LinkWise 9210 provides extensive feedback during and after the synchronization process, including details of the items that were added, edited or deleted during a synchronization.

RingMaster for 9210 to 1.15F and Plugin Available

RingMaster, the ringtone generator and editor for the Nokia 9210 has been updated. In addition there is a new plugin available. The plugin allows you to modify or generate WAV files using mathematical formulae.

From the Zenobyte Newsletter:

There is a new plugin available for RingMaster that allows you to modify or generate WAV files using mathematical formulae. For details visit http://www.zenobyte.com/9210/wavfunc.html

Examples of this are:

sample(xpos)*sin(xpos/40) - makes your sample sound a bit like a dalek by multiplying every sample in your sample with a low frequency sin wav (also try other values instead of 40, eg 80)

Every sample in the WAV are passed through the formula, xpos and sample(x) can be used in your formula to modifiy existing samples. Eg the formula for a simple echo would be:

sample(xpos)+sample(xpos-2000)/2

Further details available on the Zenobyte website:
http://www.zenobyte.com/9210/wavfunc.html

You can also create your own plug ins for the program see:
http://www.zenobyte.com/9210/ringmaster_effects.html

This is supported in the new version 1.15F
