Linous has announced that it will upgrade both its MeeGo based netbook and tablet operating systems to the MeeGo 1.2 release. The Linpus MeeGo netbook and tablet editions have a user experience built by Linpus running on top of the common MeeGo code and UI building blocks. They are licensened by OEMs (Fujitsu, Lenovo and Acer) who build and ship the device products.
Linpus Lite MeeGo tablet edition
The Linpus Lite MeeGo tablet edition has a full set of touch optimised, customised applications including eReader, media player, mail, photo viewer, maps, contacts and calendar. The new version, based on MeeGo 1.2, includes a number of enhancements:
- Widget desktop has an additional widget for showing rich content from cloud or device.
- Widget framework and the ability to convert application into widgets (and sync content).
- Lock-screen, which can be customised with unqiue unlock gestures for each OEM.

Linpus Lite MeeGo Tablet Edition

Linpus Lite MeeGo netbook edition
The Linpus Lite MeeGo netbook edition builds on top of the standard MeeGo netbook UX. It features a redesigned M-Zone and added social networking integration and functionality. It also includes a number of codecs and other elements, which provide a fully featured multimedia playback experience; an enhanced connection manager, which provides easier to set up networking; and a automated update system.
