Pearl is the smart phone part of EPOC Release 6. It is designed to be the Operating System which the new 'superphones' of 2.5G and 3G run on. The following pictures are from the Symbian website.

The Browser application shown here seems to be some sort of WAP browser / Web Browser. Here oneof the key elements of Pearl is shown. That of pushing data, in this example a map for directions is being shown. Servces can be tailored to your area as with current technology it will possible to physically locate your location.

 

This seems to be a menu listing the 'applications' available. There is a calendar app a messages app (for e-mail and SMS?). The calls presumably is assoicated with call functions. There is also a Contact, Notes and Settings applications as well as an Extras which suggests extendability...
 


 

And access your Diary on your phone.

As well as all your contacts. Presumbably this will sync with a PDA or desktop too.

 

 

 

 

Useful for those last minute jottings. Entry via a phone keyboard or desktop sync app?
And see the last calls you made?  
  And of course there is the ability to send messages on the move.
