Smartphones are the next generation super mobiles (some are
already appearing on the market). They aim to replace the current
mobile phones but allow for richer user interaction and usability.
The Nokia
7650 should be available in May. We have a feature here
and you can read Symbian Smartphone related news below. You will

Currently there is only one announced phone, the Nokia
7650, which is the focus of this section. However it is thought
that further phones will be produced by Panasonic, Kenwood, Ericsson,
Nokia, Motorola and others. Members of the Symbian consortium represent
over 70% of world handset sales as of the current moment.

Digital Red, a well known Chinese 92x0 developer, yesterday in their newsletter made several interesting announcements relating to their products for the Nokia 7650 and P800. The products are as follows: Breaker, MagicMine, MagicLine, PingBall, Sango, Bowling, Shuffleboard, Horse Race, Majiang, Fisherman.
m-internet.com have released Mahjong for the Nokia 7650. Mahjong for Nokia 7650 is a classic and popular Chinese tile game Mah Jong in Asia running on your Nokia phone. Mahjong fully uses of your Nokia 7650 to show the best of all graphics, sound and give you the highest entertainment.
PsiNT, one of the leading developers for the 9210, have announced their first 7650 applications. Already available as betas are Extended File Manager (a file manger for the 7650, filling in what's not on the device) and Screen Capture (for taking screen shots). Coming soon is Task Manager (for managing memory and programs on the device).
Reqwireless WebViewer is an HTML web browser that gives any mobile Java device, including the Nokia 7650, access to browse the real web. WebViewer gives you access to the same Web content on your Java-enabled cellphone or PDA that you get with any desktop browser. WebViewer is not a WAP browser; it's an HTML browser.
In many countries the Nokia 7650 has been available in small numbers in the last few weeks, but now the official roll out has been announced. The cost is roughly �250 with a contract and �500 without. In Germany T-Mobile are selling it for �350 and MMS will be switched on July 1st. MMS will surely follow shortly in other countries.
Nokia has made available via its website several files and documents aimed specifically at Nokia 7650 users. The documents include a userguide and PC Suite installation gude and a quick guide for modem options on the 7650. The programs available include the games Bounce, TriplePop and Card Deck as well as a SyncML program. The PC Suite and a Modem Setup program are also available. This is a sure a sign as any that the 7650 rollout is well underway.

Zenobyte, the well known developers of RingMaster and PhoneMan for the EPOC platform have extended their reach ot the Nokia 7650 with the announcement of the port of RingMaster to the 7650 and a new program ZenoMorph. ZenoMorph is an easy to use photo-manipulation application for SymbianOS powered phones.
Epocware, one of the most sucessful EPOC developers (with programs from the the Psion 5 to the Nokia 9210 and 7650) have released two excellent programs for the 7650. Handy Shopper (for shopping lists) and Handy Expense (for keeping track of expenses while on the move) join Handy Safe (already announced) in Epocware portfolio - it is programs like these that will really enhance the usefullness of a phone like the 7650.
