Motorola to use UIQ
Motorola has (according to the Register) licensed the UIQ interface for its Symbian based Paragon 3G Smartphone This is the same interface as the upcoming SE P800.

No more PLP
An article by Richard Bloor on the Wireless Development Network looks at the decision by some Symbian partners to drop the Psion Link Protocol (PLP), a protocol which has been used to connect mobile devices to desktop computers since Symbian's forerunner, SIBO, which powered the Psion Series 3's synchronisation and transfer capability.

RealNetworks announces Helix, Symbian supports
RealNetworks have announced a new standard for digital media products (i.e. a format for stremaing audio and video) that is multi OD. It has a lot of industry support and that includes Symbian.

Nokia results and 3G
Nokia have released their latest sales figures and have made their revised sales targets. Although they don't think the markets will pick up much in n the near future they seem to have faith in new high end devices.
