Information from Website on how to use RingMaster (see http://www.zenobyte.com/9210/ringmaster.html)

Instructions for RingMaster

Editing tunes:

Use the menu/hotkeys to insert/delete notes

To change the note at the cursor position use cursor up/down. Ctrl-cursor up/down moves the selected note by 6 semitones, so two Ctrl-cursor key presses will move the note one octave. Really low or really high notes may play incorrectly, currently there is no checking on the limits of notes entered

To change the duration of a note or pause use the number keys 1 to 6 as follows:

  1. Whole note (semibreve)

  2. 1/2 note (minim)

  3. 1/4 note (crotchet)

  4. 1/8th note (quaver)

  5. 1/16th note (semiquaver)

  6. 1/32nd note (demisemiquaver)

Using edited ring tones on the 9210:

To use your new ring tones on the 9210 save them to eg '\Documents\Tones\'. Then use the "Profiles" option in Control Panel and edit the profile you are using, eg 'General'. Select the "Ringing tone" line in the 'Profiles settings' dialog and tap the 'Change' button. Browse to the folder you saved the ring tone in and select it

Sending created ring tones via SMS to other Nokia phones:

To send created ring tones via SMS, save the ring tone. Then use "File manager" to find the saved tone and press Enter to open it in the built in ring tone player. Then use "Send as -> Short message". We plan to add a "Send as" menu option in a later version of RingMaster

Menu functions:

File
New ring tone Clears the current ring tone
Open ring tone Allows an existing .RNG file to be opened for editing
Open ROM ring tone Allows an .RNG file from the 9210 ROM to be opened for editing
Save ring tone Saves the ring tone, prompts for a filename if not already saved
Save as Prompts for a filename and saves the ring tone

Undo Not implemented in current version
Cut Cuts the item at the cursor
Copy Copies the item at the cursor
Paste Pastes the last cut or copied item into the cursor position
Delete Deletes the item at the cursor
Note
Insert note Inserts a note at the cursor. See editing tunes for further information
Insert pause Inserts a pause at the cursor. See editing tunes for further information
Insert repeat start Prompts for a repeat count and inserts a start repeat marker
Insert repeat end Inserts a end repeat marker
Tune
Edit RTTTL Allows the tune to be edited in RTTTL format*
Transpose Changes the key of the tune by -12 to +12 semitones
Play Plays the tune, or stops play if already playing

*RTTTL format used by RingMaster has the addition of repeat functionality. In the tune section of the RTTTL you can use R<n> and RE to specify loops, where <n> is 1 to 15, and specifies the start of the section to be looped. RE specifies the end of the section to loop. For example:

2B,R2,D6,E6,RE,C6

will play the following notes:

2B,D6,E6,D6,E6,D6,E6,C6. The section between R2 and RE repeats two extra times (ie plays 3 times in total)
